I've been trying to find online booking for a hostel or hotel in Hallstatt but have been unsucessful so far. It seems like there is only one true hostel but nothing is coming up online. Does anyone have any advice? I'd rather try and book ahead since I'll be there in early July. Thanks!

GoJoel, nice to see you back around these parts! Eagle is on his way there (via a few other places first!) so will be able to give you some up to the minute information when he gets a chance - which should be in the next 2 or so weeks if you can wait a bit longer (unless he has the chance to log on while he's away).

Yeah, I'm not exactly looking for travel packages on my backpacking trip...
The frustration I'm having is that my 2007 W. Europe Lonely Planet lists about 3 hostels/hotels, but there are no websites listed or they don't do reservations ahead.
