Hi new to this site and im finding it a great help. Me and my mate are both from England and are going on a 2month trip round mainland Europe solely by rail starting early June. We have so far booked hostels in Paris, Bern and Barcelona and have tickets for Summercase2008 in Barcelona which should be a great festival. We plan to very soon get a Eurorail pass each for the duration of our trip. However im looking for a few suprise places to visit on route as we are mainly going to capital citys at present. Were both looking for great nights out as well as great places to relax and see sights. Also anything to do with football or music will be worth a look, beer festivals etc etc. We plan on going from London to Paris via the tunnel then on to Bern, Munich, Prague, Vienna (in time for the Euro2008 final , then down to Venice, Rome, Pisa then west to Marseille and finally to Barcelona. Would you recommend i give any places on the list a miss? or any i should visit on route? i have about 45days travel between London to the time the music festival begins in Barcelona. Any advice would be most welcome, thanks sheldinho

Haha funny you should ask that about the flying. Im petrified of flying, and although will probably get a flight home from Barcelona "gulp" and im sure the plane is faster than the train the idea of flying here there and everywhere gives me the chills lol. I had a bad experience 2years ago when we went to Australia and Singapore, we had something like 10 7/8 hour flights in about a month and it almost runied my trip. No the plan is definatley to go by rail, i didnt know the Eurorail passes didnt work for the EuroTunnel so thanks for the advice mate il have to book those seperate.
