Interesting initiative staring in Italy, with Venice as the first city to promote it. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_depth/7436092.stmThe 2nd last paragraph about Italians being large consumers of bottled water is something that always perplexed me when I lived there - the water (from taps or specific fountains) is some of the cleanest in Europe, yet the marketting (and consumption) of bottled water is massive. In Rome, for example the fountains - the "Roman Noses" where the pipe sticks out like a hooked nose and has a hole in the top for drinking) are dotted all over the city and locals still go to the point in the Roman Forum that delivers water from an original acqueduct pipe to fill their own large bottles, so good to see that tourists will be further encouraged in other cities to do the same. As long as the sign says "Acqua Potabile" or "Drinking Water" (Acqua Non Potabile means Water Not Fit for Consumption) there should be no issues. And putting your mouth over the pipe is never a good idea - in any country!
