So it occurred to me that I really like live music, so i should ask this............. What are some awesome festivals/parades/concerts that take place in Europe? The only one that comes to mind is the Berlin Love Parade (which i only know about from that terrible mandy moore movie i love) and I googled it and it appears its not even in Berlin anymore.

Correct the Love Parade switched to Essen, for the first time last year. It depends on what you are looking for, and the time you plan to be in a city/country. In summer there are small festivals all over Europe. I think that in the Netherlands alone, there is a music festival within 25km every week. It is very likely that there will be some kind of local thing going on when you are in a city. Try to search for a festivalguide for the towns you visit (a lot of time the tourist information website, puts up a calender on the website, with events.)

I can't remember when you were going (though I think I just responded to a bunch of your posts!), but there are some awesome summer music festivals through Europe - several days long, with camping... and... usually mud? Haha. I guess the most well known is Glastonbury Festival in the UK (at least to me!), but here's a list I found of some more studenttravel.about.com/od/coolevents/tp/music_fest_eurs.htm

Here's a link for festivals in the UK. www.efestivals.co.uk/Check out some of the smaller festivals like Solfest in Augest sometimes these have a better atmosphere than the larger more commercial festivals. Just a hint about Glastonbury, extremly difficult to get tickets. To have to register your interest 2 months before the tickets are even on sale. This is no guarantee you will then get through to buy a ticket. There are limits on the amount of tickets you can buy. The tickets have photo id on them and can only be used by the named person. I'm not sure if overseas addresses could even apply for them. BUT if you get the chance to go it is an amazing festival. I've been 5 times as a kid - hippy parent.
