So it occurred to me today I should look into Oktoberfest and its become clear to me it will be very hard to find anywhere-near-cheap accommodation. Any advice??? I really can't afford to spend $100/night. Which is what the internet is telling me my option is.

Here's a recent Post on accommodation in Munich during O'fest: pretravel.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Accommodation&action=display&thread=7363You will find that accommodation choices are getting scarce now as the date draws closer, especially as they are just about to start building the tents/halls on Theresienwiese, but don't give up hope as another Member recently found decent accommodation during this period - during the week not the weekend, though. If you get stuck and can't find anywhere in Munich, you could do the next best thing and book accommodation in Innsbruck and travel by train to the 'Fest. Innsbruck is a great city and although taking a 1.5hr-ish train ride home after a day on the Wiesn might seem like an inconvenience, at least it's a way to see both places without spending a fortune on accommodation.
