What would you suggest be the cheapest way to get from Amsterdam to Munich... Something pretty fast too (wishful thinking?).
I've looked up quite a bit but I haven't really found anything. Maybe I am not looking in the right places, but the best I have found was overnight trains. Any suggestions?

monsieurv, I had a brief look at some options, and found two methods that might work for you:
> Train - you could use the ICE (high speed) train from Amsterdam to Munich. The travel time is about 7 / 8 hours (in other words, a full travel day) with one or two changes. The cost is a bit high for a P-P ticket, but if you're going to be travelling with a Railpass, that would be a good time to use it (however you'll have to pay the reservation fee separately).
> Air - I wasn't able to find any budget air listings from Amsterdam (or other nearby airports) to Munich. However, Brussels Airlines has flights from Brussels to Munich and the €40-50 for a ticket (not including taxes & fees) is a more reasonable than the train. The flight time is about 01H20M. I've never flown with Brussels Airlines, so can't offer any comments on their service. Most likely you would have to book early to get the best price and also be prepared to pay a supplement for either checked and/or overweight baggage.
When booking air travel, keep in mind that you'll need to factor in the time and costs to get to and from both airports that you'll be using and into the city centres. Of course going by train means you won't need to worry about that, as most stations are in the centres.
Hopefully one of the others will have some further suggestions.
Happy travels!
