Hey Everyone! Currently travelling right now in Europe and am trying to get opinions as to where the best region in France is for inexpensive wine tours, Burgundy, Bordeaux, etc. Anyone have any advice? (sorry this is so short but I am at an expensive internet cafe, will update when I get back!)

Hi phillytraveller, great to hear from you "on the road" and hope the trip is going well. Bordeaux and Burgundy are both great regions, and both have wine tours that can be sourced at the individual regional tourist information centres. Bordeaux can be a little off the track, depending on your other destinations, and the vineyards are quite spread out across this vast region, but if you're a lover of the wine style then it's well worth the trip. The Burgundy region offers a bit of variety in that you can stick to the north in places like Beaune (pretty town too) or head further south to the tiny Beaujolais region (just north of Lyon and around Macon which is also a white wine specialist town too). Another region to look at is the Champagne-Ardennes region for towns Epernay, Reims, etc. These can be day tours from Paris or overnight jobs. Can't recall exactly where your travels are taking you in terms of which would be more convenient, but that's my 3cents worth (inflation has driven the cost up from 2cents )!

Hi Guys,
I am French and I am studying in Bordeaux. Off course I will say that Bordeaux is the best place to drink wine in France. However, I really adivse you to go for the "route des vins" (wine tour) in Alsace because the wines are very tasty and the region in summer is very beautiful and varied
