My friend and I are going to Europe for 13 days and we had the following itinerary in mind. Please let me know what you think. I know it might seem a bit rushed but we would love to squeeze this all in. Also Euro Rail seems a touch expensive but I am wondering if it is our best bet. There does not seem to be a Euro Rail that departs out of Amsterdam so do we need to fly to our next destination?
Regarding our limited time in Amsterdam, I have been before and my friend agreed that we would only spend one day there. The reason we are flying in there is that this was a free flight and there was no availability to other cities.
Any help or guidance whatsoever is much appreciated!
Day 1 - Amsterdam
2, 3 - Berlin
4, 5, 6 - Prague
7, 8 - Munich
9, 10 - Interlaken
11, 12, 13 - Paris
Thanks!

agent627, Welcome! A few thoughts on your Itinerary..... First of all, be assured there are rail links out of Amsterdam! Use the Deutschebahn website www.bahn.de as it's much more useful for working out schedules. Next, regarding your Itinerary it would really help to know where you're travelling from? The majority of our members at GFE are coming from North America, and allowing one day in Amsterdam is not practical as the first day is "lost" in flight times (jet lag is also a problem). For a trip of only 13 days, this is a very ambitious Itinerary! The travel times between the cities you listed varies, and for some of the trips you'll need to allocate a full travel day (whether travelling by budget airline or rail). It would really help to have a bit more information regarding your circumstances. Cheers!

I would go as far and say this is too ambitious! All these cities will not suddenly disappear in the next few years, so don't hesitate to skip 2 or 3 of these, and to leave them for a future trip. As Eagle said before, you'll likely have a jetlag (if you come from across the Atlantic), and Amsterdam is a city that really need 2-3 days anyway. For Berlin I would calculate 3 or 4 days. There is a lot to see and all sights are spread out over the city. Prague, Munich and Interlaken, all need about 3 days (in Interlaken it really depends on how much time you want to spend in the mountains), Paris is good for at least 3 days, but for some people 5 or 6 isn't enough. Also you need time to travel, check www.bahn.de for timetables on trains. I would limit this trip to 3 cities. (Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin), and go like this: 1-3 Amsterdam 4 travel to Paris (arrive in the afternoon/evening) 5-8 Paris 9 travel to Berlin 10-12 Berlin 13 (travel to airport of arrival in Amsterdam?)
