Hi everyone,
I have a flight from Gatwick airport in a month at 11am on a Sunday morning; based on this I will need to check in at about 9am as it is an international flight to St Petersburg.
I will be travelling to Gatwick from Liverpool and am of the opinion that I should not attempt to get to Gatwick on the day that I fly out. I am not sure if it is even possible without a car to get to Gatwick by 9am. So, I think that I should probably make my way from Liverpool the day before on the Saturday and thought that it would be easiest and less stress to stay in the vicinity of Gatwick airport that night, meaning that I could get to the airport by 9am without having to be up at the crack of dawn.
A couple of questions;
Does anyone know of some accommodation in the vicinity of Gatwick airport; like a hostel or budget hotel?
Can anyone recommend the best way to get to the Gatwick airport vicinity from Liverpool using public transport?
Any information you could provide would be much appreciated.
Cheers and thanks!

Hostels pulled up from HostelWorld: (p.s. book through the link at the bottom of the forum - help support GFE!) www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php/ChosenCity.Gatwick/ChosenCountry.England2. There is a Travelodge right by Gatwick but the best rates are usually booked months in advance so you'd probably get it (a large room) for around 50 pounds but there are easy transport links to the airport.

Thanks very much for the suggestions.
I have been made aware of the Yotel at Gatwick airport and am considering staying there. Convenience is the main reason but, also novelty factor and the price is pretty reasonable too.
Cheers.

I forgot about that.... I've heard a lot of positive things about Yotel but the 25 pound rate is definitely appealing. You can get to Gatwick around 9 or 10 PM and check out the next morning around 7 or 8 and get some breakfast before checking in for your flight.
It definitely sounds like your best option!
