Accommodationduring Notting Hill Festival

Hi Everybody,

I am French and I come to London for the Notting Hill Carnival. I will arrive the 24th of August in the afternoon. I don't know London at all. I need an urgent help. I want to book an hotel near Notting Hill but I don't want to pay too much, I don't mind if I have to share my room if it is the only good solution

I did a quick search for you but I don't know London really well so I can't recommend any of these places.

These all look a little pricey.

I think you are going to have trouble finding a cheap room for the carnival. It is VERY busy. My suggestion is that you look a little further away. Remember Notting Hill Gate tube station is close so maybe look somewhere else in London close to the Tube network.

Not much help maybe there but others who know London better maybe more useful.

If you want a hotel room, I would use Hotwire or Priceline - check out this site for help. www.betterbidding.com

If you want a hostel dorm bed, I would recommend St. Christopher's Shepherd Bush. It has beds available and is not too far away from Notting Hill (20-minute walk, I read). I haven't been there recently, but it was okay years ago. Note that the area of the hostel is not posh, but it is convenient.

But really, you could stay in lots of areas in London and be fine.
