Ah, Sunday morning I took a long train ride up to Interlaken in Switzerland. Then I took a bus, a train and a cable car up to Gimmelwald in the Alps. When I finally got up there, it was a snow storm, yup a snow storm...a few months early to my taste, but hey!
So I couldn't see any mountains but the Mountain Hostel was just super. The people that were there were really nice and welcoming. We sat around all evening, talking and drinking. The next day I woke up with the sound of a cow mooing. All of a sudden it became techno music. Yup, their wake up call is a mooing cow techno song! Quite crazy and agravating at 8h30 in the morning! I turned around in my bed to realize the sun was shining...ah....i was startled by the view I had from my window....mountains covered in snow...so breathtaking its too hard to describe. So I spent the day walking around and hiking!
The next day it was ugly and raining but I spent it relaxing and reading! I had some yogurt fresh from the farm and they have cheese, milk, jerky and marmelade made fresh also! Soooooooooo goood! So then I figure I was in love with the place and would stay another night.
I woke up and it was sunny so I took the cable car up to Schilthorn. Its a rotating restaurant 2500 meters in the air. Its was absolutely unbelievable, I found out they had a James bond movie filmed there! Spent the night talking with a guy named Jonathan that sat with me up there! Went to bed early!
I can not recommend this place enough. I will definately come back, thats for sure. I must say "If heaven isn't what it's cut out to be, send me back to Gimmelwald"!
