Sad case of Britt Lapthorne, Australian backpacker

It's hard to follow exactly what happened in this case, but in short a young Australian backpacker was found dead in the water off Dubrovnik in mysterious circumstances.

Unfortunately the police response in this case seems to leave a lot to be desired.

WT, thanks for posting the story! I'm sure the thoughts and prayers of all of use here are with Britt's family and friends.

The Police response in this case would seem to be a bit "lacking", but hopefully their investigation will conclude with an arrest. Most travellers possibly assume that the Police in all countries will respond in the same way as they do "back home", but unfortunately that's not the case everywhere. Some Police forces are plagued by lack of training or motivation, poor pay, blatant incompetence or varying degrees of corruption.

I read the article on the "suspicious behaviour" of the Hostel owner's Son, but I didn't see the name of the Hostel listed anywhere?
