I'm trying to decide on whether to stay in Ooops or St. Christopher's when I'm in Paris. I've heard great things about St. Christopher's, but Oops looks pretty good as well and is in a bit easier accessible part of Paris.
The only problem with Oops is that there's no lockers and a lockout, which I detest. And St. Christopher's is on the north side of the city and more easily accessible to Le Bourget where I will be at the air show.
Thoughts?

archdukejustice, Welcome! I'm not familiar with either of the Hostels you mentioned, as I usually stay in budget Hotels in Paris. You might also have a look at www.hihostels.com/dba/list.php?lang=E as they would be a good choice also. The facilities and management style at HI Hostels are usually quite consistent between countries. I believe HI members get first choice on available rooms, so you may want to consider buying a membership. It's not expensive and if you use them, it eventually pays for itself. If you're more interested in a "party palace" style of Hostel, the HI properties would probably not be a good choice. Hopefully one of the four properties in Paris will fit your needs. Happy travels!

I heard some not so great things about Peace and Love... (a girl at the St Christopher's actually moved halfway because she couldn't stand it! I can't remember why...)
But anyway, I've never been to Oops, but I did go to the St Christopher's, and I'd definitely recommend it. Nice bar/restaurant, it's all brand new and squeaky clean, and I love that each bed has its own little curtain for privacy. The only problem I had was the location (it's in the 19th arr. and takes a little while to get to the sights in the centre), but hey, if you're going to be at the air show anyway, maybe it will even be a good thing! And the location wasn't really THAT bad... the Parisian transport system is amazing, so it makes things pretty easy!
