Hi there! I've read that there is supposedly an overnight train that goes from Bilbao to Barcelona, but when I search on RENFE I can't find any overnight train. Anybody know if there is such a train and how I book it??
Thanks in advance!

Renfe usualy gives a pretty good overview of all the trains leaving on that day. I also checked it and I can also not find a nighttrain, only the two that leave at 10:05 and 16:45. Also seeing the prices, the comment of Jack, might be worth considering. There are overnight busses going from Bilbao to Barcelona (leaving at 22:30, and getting to Barcelona at 6:30/6:45 (cost 41,60€) - check www.alsa.es for more information.

Thanks for the replies. Flying and bussing it are definitely options. I was just really hoping to get my travelling done while I'm horizontal. Anybody else know anything about this elusive night train?

The only thing that I can come up with is that it would be a train leaving from Zaragoza (Delicias), which is a night train. This one leaves at 1.56 - arrives in Barcelona at 7.36.
This would mean taking the train you already found at 16.45 to Zaragoza, (arrives at 21:00) kill a few hours, and then continue with this nighttrain. But this leaves you on the streets of Zaragoza for 5 hours, with your luggage, when you could be in Barcelona around 23:45, and be in a proper bed around 01:00.

As you can only look ahead 2 months on the Renfe site, it could be possible it is a connection that is only carried out in Summer?
It seems to me that a lot of this info out of date. In the last few years, and the coming years, the number of high-speed connections within Spain will rise rapidly. Madrid - Barcelona can now be done in 2:47 bij AVE. (fast but expensive.) The general rule in Spain is that the faster you travel the more you pay. In the odd occasion that the bus is faster, it will be more expensive.
