I am planning on studying spanish in Salamanca, Spain for a semester next fall and I wanted to do a lot of traveling while I am there. I was just wondering how much it would be for weekend trips to places like Paris, Rome, and other cities in Europe. Thanks.

I was in Salamanca this past summer for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. How much you spend for side trips all depends on you. Such variables include how you get there, train or plane, where you stay, hostels or hotels, and what you plan on doing there.
You are already in Spain, why not do some weekend trips while you are there? There are so many wonderful places to visit while you are in Spain. Is your school providing any trips?

yah, my school has a bunch of trips that travel a lot of Spain plus I have been there once before so I have already seen a few places. There are some places I have in mind in Spain that I want to see, but there is so much in Europe I want to see.

I don't know what dates you plan on going to Paris, but Air France has round trip flights out of Madrid for $149US, this was durring the month of May.

As Salamanca doesn't have an airport, you need to get to Madrid to go to places. The good thing is that there are a lot of budgetairlines flying in and out of Madrid. Check airlines like Vueling, Spanair, Iberia (on returnflights to some destinations they are cheap, just like Lufthansa can be cheap on returnflights to Germany (in case you want to visit Berlin/Munich)), also the well known international budgetairlines like RyanAir and Easyjet are flying in and out of Madrid-Barajas.
At the moment the Pound is slipping against the Euro, so trips to the UK, might be more economical, than they have been.
