I'm hopeful this announcement will make flights a little cheaper for some Canadians. I can't see it helping much in Vancouver, although I'd certainly be happy if it does. Thanks for posting that. It sure looks like WestJet is expanding into more of an international carrier, rather than just operating in Canada. As I recall, they entered into a code share arrangement with Southwest recently also.
Who knows, maybe they'll eventually fill the spot that Zoom left and start offering flights to Europe! I think Kelowna International is looking for an airline to service routes to at least the U.K., so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
