I am wondering if any one has been to Fontainebleau? If its worth it or not, cause I'm trying to plan a day trip outside of paris. Or does any one have other suggestions? Thank you!

Have you considered Versailles? You can see the Château de Versailles and can take up most of your day walking around château and the gardens. It is covered by the Paris museum pass and has easy access from the metro/RER.

I know I've recommended Fontainbleau before (to you, most recently) and it is a great, albeit small, Chateau to visit that isn't far from Paris, but if you haven't been to Versailles, or Versailles isn't on your list, you should go there first - it really is worth the time.
Versailles is just jaw-droppingly awesome in it's size, history and some of the rooms are simply ornate beyond understanding (not all, mind you). Fontainbleau has an interesting history too (Bourbon kings, Napoleon...), the gardens are quite pretty (no where near the size of Versailles however), and the interior is worth a look, but not before you've seen Versailles (IMO). The town of Fontainbleau is compact, but other than the Chateaux there's not a lot else to explore (the forests?!) except the large cafe au lait served at the cafe across the road from the Chateau (it's huge!).

I would recommned Giverny.. as I hyave already suggest to another guy... Don't miss it! Monet's house and garden are just incredible... You 'll have the feeling of being part of one of his paintings... it's just 1 hour train ride outside Paris ( from the gare de Lyon).... have a safe trip and enjoy Paris!
