Hey Everyone!
How is everyone doing? Enjoying the summer? Our trip is going great! Nothing to complain about... we're all doing great (except my mosquito bite on my leg which is about 3 inches in diameter!! no kidding!)
Right now we are in Celano which is Adams mom's hometown (Central Italy 40 minutes from Rome). There is a huge castle here that we explored yesterday, and a few days ago we went to a town about 20 minutes away where they uncovered Roman ruins from over a thousand years ago!!! We went inside an ampitheatre (small version of the colliseum) and at the door to it, the name Caesar Augustus was engraved, so we very well could have been walking the same streets that he did a long time ago!!! We also saw parts of what used to be their houses. Adam moved a slab of marble in one of the "houses" and uncovered the floor which is made of small tiles laid in a mosaic pattern! It was very cool to see and think that Romans walked that floor!
Tomorrow we leave for Rome and will be there until Wednesday (Tuesday is my birthday!!!), and then we are heading to the Amalfi Coast for a few days... Then we will make our way back up north to Adams dad's hometown for the last week or so, and then Adam and I will be on our own after that!!!
We're heading out for the afternoon now, so we have to get going.. We'll write again when we get a chance! Hope everyone is having a great summer!!
