I've gotten to the point in planning my Europe trip where I need to figure out how I'm going to pay for everything. My friend and I both have cashcards which are a bit difficult when it comes to paying and withdrawing at certain locations(Solo and Visa Electron). We came across this STA Travel Cashcard and were wondering if it was legit and if anyone had any experiences with it. Here's the link: www.statravel.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/uk_division_web_live/hs.xsl/cashcard_topup.htm It's essentially a Mastercard cashcard for £10 and it's enabled so that while we're out and about on the continent and we run out of money, someone back home can top up the account. Any thoughts? Thanks

These Travel Cash Cards have been around for a little while now and offer a great way to have a backup of cash should you run into trouble while you're travelling. As it's a Mastercard, you'll find that it can be used pretty much anywhere - ATMs, shops, etc. They are good travle companions and work very well in Europe so if you think you'd like to have it as a backup then definitely go for thsi one. Travelex and other travel companies also have them, but the STA one is just a good as any other, just read the details to see what the transaction fees are (ATM withdrawls) so you're not caught short. They should only be around Euro1-2 per ATM withdrawal.

Thanks for your reply I did a bit more research (when I say research, I mean google) and found that Mastercard vouched for it on their site, so I think I'm going to go for it.
