Hey everyone, heres the problem. I've been researching best brand backpacks on this forum and ends up Eagle Creek was most recommended. So I started there and decided a 65L would be plenty for a 2 week trip to Europe. I originally was looking at the 65L thrive with the detachable day pack. I went to a local backpacking store and ends up they only make it in a medium size, which fits my torso fine, but is too low on my back.
So this leaves me with a problem, I can either take that, and suck it up or I can get the 65L truist Large, with no detachable day pack. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks..

stevo6754,
As the Thrive Pack doesn't seem to fit you well, the Truist 65L large might be one option. I don't generally prefer top-loading Packs, but it seems to be well designed, including the single point security lock feature. I wasn't able to tell from the EC website if the design includes a "stowable harness" for use during air travel? That's an important feature, so might be worthwhile to send an E-mail to EC.
Regarding the Day pack issue, the Truist is supplied with a Modular Travel Pouch, which may suffice in place of a Day pack? You could also buy a small Day pack from Eagle Creek or others, to use with the Truist.
Good luck and happy travels!
