Well, I'm off as of tomorrow. I'm driving to the city to drop off my car and see some friends. I fly out Sunday night. I'm scared to death and excited at the same time. Right now I"m going through some last minute packing panic. Do I really need some of this stuff?? Thank you all for all your help and patience! I'll be checking in while on the road. ;D

Welcome to Britain Libby! Forecast for Scotland for next few days: Mixed weather, occasional rain or showers, some fine weather, mainly NW winds so the fine periods should be brilliant with good visibility, rather cool (day temps 12-15C, nights chilly).

Thanks guys. Hello from Edinburgh. I arrived early this afternoon and so far the highlight has been the flight from Heathrow to Edinburgh. I had a really funny seatmate and a snarky bitch in first class who got into an argument. It helped me get over the fact that I was getting sick. My B&B isn't what I expected. The room is clean though. That's a major deal. I also have my own TV. I'm trying desperatly to stay awake right now. I'm sure what I am feeling is a mixture of exhaustion and anxiety, but I'm already a bit lonely and I JUST got here. Did anyone else feel like that? I'll check in tomorrow to find out what you guys think.

Libby, I think it's normal for your first day and feeling sick. Hope that passes quickly! And it seems you made your flight! Hurray .

It's early evening now and I'm feeling better. Maybe it was just a mixture of nerves and exhaustion, but today was pertty good. I visited a few museums, the Royal Museum being the highlight, and just walked around the city. Tomorrow I leave for the Highlands and my week exploring the north of Scotland. I hope I have a nice group of people to tour with. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. I still can't believe I'm doing it. LOL BTW...so ar I'm well under budget. I budgeted for 50 Pounds a day and came 10 pounds under both days. That includes staying in a B&B and not a hostel too! It all comes down to food choices and those attractions that require payment. There is so much to do that's free that I don't even feel that I'm missing out! I hope to write from the highlands in a few days! Take care PS...UKtrail, today it was cold and damp and then poured rain. We also had drizzle and muggy temps in the afternoon before getting hot and sunny. The Weather really reminds me of home
