Has anyone ever used rail & sail from london to amsterdam?
I want to book a ticket for their overnight ferry, it's a decent price considering you get a cabin on the boat. Is this company reputable? How was the experience?
thanks

If I check the website, than it seems a good deal, but you have to look into the details. The trip takes long 12-13 hours, so a flight or a trip on the Eurostar are faster. It seems cheap, but you need to book in advance (14 days minimum) for the cheapest fares, and it clearly says from 29 pounds, but that just seems to be a part of the trip, between London and Amsterdam. Also for me it is unclear if you still need to book a cabin for the night or if that is included. (I need to give details to continue a booking, that I don't want to give.)
If you like boattrips, it could be a nice way to make a connection between London and Amsterdam, but if you want to make a weekendtrip (bankholidaytrip), it seems that it takes a lot of your available time. With two nighttrips, if might be getting costly aswell.
Stena line is one of the bigger boatcompanies, and I think amongst the best respected ones in Europe.

I am trying a dummy booking and have gotten partway through. I tried for a month in advance, for a one-way sailing from Harwich to Hook of Holland. The fare is 26 pounds, but then there is this note on the page: *Please note, cabin accommodation is required on this sailing and is not included in the price shown here.
As you proceed, you get a choice of cabins, and the cheapest one for a night sailing is 22 pounds. So now you are up to a minimum of 48 pounds.
A flight is likely cheaper and certainly quicker, and the train can be a good deal too.
