So I have read a variety of things about the city in my research and was wondering if anyone had tips on the flea market. Is it a definite do? When should you go?

sapl, unfortunately, I don't have any information on the Paris Flea Market, however I'll do some checking to see if I can find any information. Have a look at www.parisperfect.com/paris-flea-markets/text/paris-flea-markets.html for some facts (note the warning about pickpockets). sapl, yes, I'll be heading for Paris on 28 May. I was going to post a short description of my trip, but forgot all about it. I'll try and do that in the next week or so.
I'm looking forward to being back in Paris and also to seeing parts of France that I've never been to.

What a coincidence! It looks like there's going to be a few of us in Paris at the end of May!
I'll be arriving on May 29th and will be joining a tour on the 30th. I believe we'll be heading for the Loire Valley and points south on June 2?
I'll try to post a more detailed description of this year's adventure either today or tomorrow.
My Backpacks are almost fully loaded. Twelve days to go and counting!

Ehi, I am a flea-market addicted.. and here some info I freely got from an online Paris guide: www.flashbooking.com/freedownload/travelguide/citydestinations/europe/france/paris/paris_eng.pdf There are fresh food markets all over the city but also the second-hand ones such as de St-Ouen (Porte de Clignacourt, 18th Arr.) the largest market of its kind in the world! Held every Sat, Sun and Mon from 7 am. Another good market for second hand clothing is the Porte de Vanves Flea Market (Blvd. Lefebvre, 14th Arr.). This is what I can recall, but any tourist office will tell you exactly the timetable and the location....!! Enjoy it!! |
