Ok, so we have France and Germany figured out, but we are stuck on Switzerland. There is so much to see and do, and so very little places to sleep cheaply.
Any thoughts on Switzerland from anyone's travels?

....cows! ;D sapl, we've Posted a lot on Switzerland in the last few months, here's one to get you started (you'll have to scroll down a little for the CH stuff) pretravel.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=7866&page=1Other than that - what are you looking for? Adventure sports, hiking, mountain bike riding, cable car views, cow spotting, gazing at mountains with a beer in your hand..? How long to you have to play with in Switzerland and is there a specific place/region you have to see? All of these points will determine how best to spend your time in CH. Oh, and what is your travel route, that is, from which direction are you travelling to Switzerland adn then after Switzerland?

Thanks Madam, sometimes you start to read a thread and don't go all the way through...I am guilty We are thinking of overnighting in Interlaken (for the extreme sports) and one night in Switzerland. We are coming from the Nice/Lyon area and then heading to Munich. These travel days aren't well planned yet. I'm still unsure of why we are heading to Switzerland (I gave in on this one). But the thing I have found, is there is no accomodations. Help?

We are thinking of overnighting in Interlaken (for the extreme sports) and one night in Switzerland. We are coming from the Nice/Lyon area and then heading to Munich. These travel days aren't well planned yet. Now I'm confused...Interlaken is in Switzerland, so do you mean one day in Interlaken plus an additional day somewhere else? Or one day in total? I'd suggest Interlaken for the extreme sports, although a lot of the companies journey further up the valley to actually do some of the activities (bungee, canyoning, paragliding) so you could stay 2 full days (3 nights) somewhere like Lauterbrunnen (which is a little further on from Interlaken) and take a sport or two from there - the same companies in Interlaken offer activities to book from the bike shop in Lauterbrunnen. Then you can spend time in a picturesque place, have a day of activity and a day of wandering and looking at mountains and waterfalls in between snacking on Rosti and beers. It's an amazingly beautiful part of the world, so you were wise to "give in" on going there! Accommodation in L'brunnen can be found in the Valley Hostel, at Camping Jungfrau (they have cabins and bunk rooms) or in one of the hotels if you prefer. Just Google the first two and check availability - it's a popular part of the country, the Bernese Oberland, so fills up fast. Travel wise, it's in the middle of your journey, so even though the train from Lauterbrunnen/Bernese Oberland to Munich will take a good part of the day, the scenery will be fabulous. From Nice it will take a bit, but from Lyon you could take the TGV to Basel then the regular Swiss train (SBB) on to Interlaken/Lauterbrunnen.
