Hey I am new to the board so if this is in the wrong place go easy on me haha. Well I am going to Europe next month and we are having trouble with our itinerary. We have three weeks and this is what our original idea was... London or Pamplona- 3 days Paris- 3 days Italy- 1 week Greece- 1 week Looking at it now we were thinking it may be to much travel time in between. We don't want to be overloaded and we want to be able to enjoy each place. any suggestions on the itinerary, should we go 3 weeks two countries or 3 weeks just three countries? any help would be great guys thanks.

charmedmeg, welcome to the Boards.
Your message is in the right place, so you're off to a good start! Your Post raises a few questions:
Time in each country will depend on the places you want to visit and what you want to see in each city. Where where you thinking of going in Italy and Greece?
Paris - 3 full days (ie 4 nights) is a minimum amount of time to spend here, again depending on your interest and plans. What did you want to see here?
London or Pamplona - if you haven't booked accommodation for Pamplona yet, then forget it. Rooms have been booked out for many months and you would have to stay in another town close-by then travel to Pamplona each day. For future reference, 3 days in Pamplona would be fine. London, depending on interests, needs 4 full days, especially if you're planning a day trip somewhere (Stonehenge/Bath, Oxford, etc).
How are you planning to travel between each place? Depending on the final itinerary, you may like to look at a combination of flights and trains.

We want to hit Venice and Rome for sure and make our way around. Florence would be nice and for Greece Athens for sure and maybe try to get to some islands. We will mostly be going by train but possibly a flight out of Italy to Greece. We are just wondering if its wiser to do a week and half in each place or three weeks three places or our original itinerary.

Without knowing your interests, it's still difficult to recommend how long to spend in each city, but try this on for size:
Venice - 2 full days Florence - 3 full days Rome - 4 full days (5 if you plan a day trip to Pompei) Athens - 2 full days Santorini - 3 full days Mykonos - 2-3 full days
Not knowing which Greek islands you're considering, I've just thrown two of the more popular ones in to the equation. You can find cheap flights from Rome to Athens (Aegean Air or Olympic Airways) then on to the furtherest island, then ferry your way back. Trains in Italy are a good choice for transport.
It's not really a case of which itinerary you should try to fit in, what you have to ask yourselves is where do you really want to go and how much time can you put towards your trip.

I think this looks better than the one you posted before. But I would wonder if you want to visit Egypt in summer. It will be incredibly hot! In my opinion is a perfect place to go to in January/February.

Good point on the summer thing. but I am a student so summer is really the only travel time I have. Does that seem doable, we want to enjoy our vacation not rush rush rush. So let me know.

Egypt is a great country to visit and even thought it will be scorchingly hot at that time of year, as herrbert pointed out, as you're on an organised tour you'll find that you'll do most of your sightseeing/activities in the early (4am!) mornings or later in the afternoons. The middle of the day will be for siestas or travelling in air-conditioning/on a boat.
As for the newer itinerary mentioned in herrbert's Post (let's keep all references to you itinerary in this Thread as posting your questions in other Threads will confuse the matter):
Italy 8 days- Venice, (maybe Florence/Pisa) Rome (Side trips to Pompeii, Vatican) You'll really only have time to do Venice 3 nights (2 full days) and Rome 5 nights (4 full days). That day trip to Pompei will take one whole day away from sightseeing in Rome, but if you leave Venice in the morning you'll sneak some extra time in to sightseeing/eat/drink on the afternoon of arrival as it's not a long train trip. A visit to the Vatican isn't a whole day trip away from Rome per se, but depending on what you want to see you could easily spend a whole day there.
Greece 6 days- Athens, Day trip to islands near Hydra Athens for 6 days, even with a day trip, is a lot of time - what did you plan to see there? I still maintain that 2 full days in Athens would be good, then you could to a day trip to Hydra as well, making 3 full days for accommodation in Athens. With the extra 3 days you could either go to another island, or put the time back into Italy for Florence or Cinque Terre if that suits better. Just a note, accommodation on the Greek Islands would be filling up fast (if not full already) for July, so work out your Greek itinerary fast.
