Problems with Partners while going travelling?

Hi All!

Was wondering if anyone of you went travelling alone or with friends and left your partner (boyfriend, girlfriend, fiance, wife husband) at home while you did it?

Im planning on going away for around 5 - 6 weeks next year travelling with some friends to celebrate graduating from University and my partner is VERY annoyed with me for doing it. Was wondering if anyone else had any problems like this?

davi, if your partner is having issues with you travelling for 5-6 weeks, ask him/her what fears they have. Is it because they think you'll not come back, or forget about them? Or is it something else? It's a common reaction, at first, when you announce you're travelling away and your partner can't/won't go with you. It's nice to think that you'll be missed so much, but if you talk about it a little more, you may find that s/he is just scared of the unknown - ie you being away from them - and if you can allay any fears by talking about it then that's a good start.

If all else fails, bribery works - bring back presents!
