a quick intro.. I already have a couple of threads going on regarding my full itinerary but thought I'd ask for this portion of my trip in particular..
I'm going on a 2 1/2-3 months trip to Europe in two weeks.. I am planning on doing a loop starting in London and ending in Lisbon.. trying to concentrate more time in the Eastern countries and Italy.. then hopefully Spain and Portugal.. mainly for budget reasons I'd say.. I'll try to travel for as long as I can make my dollar last.. even more then 3 months if I can manage that.. oh, my budget is U$10,000 - everything included, except for my overseas ticket, which I got with my miles..
I've booked hotels for London, Paris and Amsterdam.. but sort of want to go with the flow from there.. by then it will be almost September and I'm being optimistic that I'll still be able to get some good deals for transportation and accommodations..
this is my rough/dream itinerary.. it is just sort of a guide and nothing is set in stone..
London(5) - Paris(6) - Amsterdam(4) - Berlin(4) - Prague(4) - Krakow(3) - Budapest(3) - Vienna?(4)- Ljubljana(3) - Zagreb/Spit(4) - Venice(2) - Firenze(2) - Rome(4) - Naples/Sorrento(5) - Greek Islands(6) - Spain - Portugal
* ( ) - number of planned nights
I am hoping to have a little break/relax time every two to three weeks.. and some sort of a beach break in the middle of my trip - mid/late September.. and was thinking of spending a week on the Greek Islands.. however, I've been listening to suggestions that can be a bit too much to do this time around with my already busy route.. perhaps expensive and time consuming to get there from Italy??.. I've heard suggestions to do the Croatia's coast instead.. or that Sorrento/Capri/Amalfi Coast would be a good stop too.. any thoughts??
oh, I think I'd probably be better off flying from Italy - or Greece? - to Barcelona
as always.. lots of questions.. and your thoughts are much appreciated..
cheers-
