Hi everyone! I'm studying abroad in Germany for the year, and my father is coming to visit me in March, and since we're Scottish we want to take a trip to Scotland! We're thinking like 3-4 nights, but we're not sure where yet. This will be my dad's first trip anywhere overseas, so I want to make sure it's amazing. Would you guys recommend Glasgow or Edinburgh? Or Anywhere else? Day trips from other places, too? We like museums, historical sights, good food, entertaining nightlife (we'll see how late my dad can actually stay out...haha), and outdoorsy things too. Thanks in advance for all the help!

I highly recommend Edinburgh but 3-4 days isn't much time to explore that amazing country.
I love the north, the real highlands and even farther up to the Orkney Islands. But they take a real week to even get a feel for them.
If you've only got a few days then stick with Edinburgh and explore the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Hollyrood House. You can also take any number of day trips out of the city to place slike Oban, Fort Williams, etc.
I spent a week in the city and I felt like I was just starting to get to know it.
