I am planning to go to Europe this summer on a tight budget. I was wondering if it is easy to work without a visa as I go along in exchange for accommodation or money?

Hi, welcome adventurer01. What country are you living in? If you are Australian, Canadian, or from another Commonwealth country, it could be reasonably easy to get a visa. Maybe there are a few ideas here: www.transitionsabroad.com/listings/work/volunteer/volunteerprogramseurope.shtmlStating the obvious here, the best thing to do is try to get as much money together before you leave. Any legal way you can save, or make more money, do it. If you are from the US, is it possible that you qualify for an EU passport due to a parent or grandfather's citizenship? For "regular" American young people, it's pretty tough to get such a visa, but let's hear your details. I just thought of one possibility - being an au pair. I think there are legitimate ways for Americans to do this. There's also WWOOF - working on organic farms in exchange for room and board.
