The London School of Economics has numerous residences in London. However, during holiday breaks, the LSE rents out these rooms for very reasonable prices by London standards.

I've stayed at three of the LSE residences: High Holborn Hall, Passfield Hall, and Roseberry Residence. HHH is the best located, Passfield second in my opinion, but you'd be fine at all three. I think Passfield was the nicest of the three, but again, all were fine for the price.
