Hey there, Im starting to plan a trip to europe in july. I want to start out in london, but I cant seem to find any rail passes that fit into my standards. I am looking to travel to Ireland, England, The Netherlands, france if possible. I plan on staying for about 3 weeks. Now ive researched the Rail passes, and cant find any in my budget. I would also like to leave from london as well(for flight expenses). I definatly plan on staying in Backpacking and youth hostels, BUT I DEFINATLY want to have a culteral expierence as well. If anyone has any advice for travel and flight tips I would greatly appreciate it.

My Itinerary isnt exact atm, but I know I want to go to Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Munich (if possible), and rome (If possible). Im trying to plan it out accordingly to my budget of about 3000 usd. And Booking accordingly since I am traveling in the busy season. I also have a question on random hostel stays, and bus trips etc. IF its possible to get around or should I invest in booking almost everything ahead? Also any other tips and advice would be helpful since it will be my first trip ever to europe! thank you to everyone in advance!

If you want to have these cities in you trip, I think I would be wise to consult a travel agent, to help you to find a good open-jaw ticket. If you end your trip in Rome, there is not much use to paid for a ticket to get back to London, probably stay a day there, before flying home. It's true that tickets to/from the same place a cheaper, but keep in mind the time you loose, and the extra money.
In this setup, I think that a combination of flying and trains is the best way to go. Getting to Dublin, needs a flight (or a boat crossing). As your trip is pretty short, I would opt for the fastest option, being a flight. From Dublin to London, the same. From A'dam to Paris, there is a fast train, that will require a reservation. (the Thalys). Paris to Munich I am not sure about (train is possible, but I guess a flight as well.) From Munich you can choose to get to Rome by train, maybe making 1 or 2 stop along the way. Think Innsbruck, Venice or Florence, as obvious places.
If you come to Europe in July, you need to book in advance. The budget is tight, and big place usualy come with big prices as well. London and Paris will be the most expensive, but if you book, and check that a hostel has a kitchen, would make it possible to cook your own food, saving a lot of money.
