I just read in my guide that it is NOT customary to tip a bar keep in the U.K. That seems very strange to me. Can anyone verify? I don't want to come off as a cheapo American due to misinformation.

In most of Europe, tipping is not really a custom. In some places it can even be an insult. Safe bet is don't tip - and if you're really feeling uncomfortable about it, ask your server. Every place is different. Happy traveling! |
