Hi all, sorry if this has been addressed somewhere already, but here is my dilemma:
I'm going to France next month for a conference and I have 7 additional days to spend in Europe afterward. I plan on spending some time in Paris (2 or 3 days ) and Rome (2 or 3 days, and I'm flying out of Rome) but I wonder if I could sneak another city in there somewhere, possibly Venice or Florence?
From what I've seen, it looks like people are recommending at least 3 days in a city like Paris or Rome, so if I were to try to get to Venice or Florence for 1 day in between, would I be cutting it too close?
The thing that is worrying me is that some of my friends have told me that Rome is a bit of a tourist trap and possibly only worth a few days...
Thank you for your help, this forum has already provided a lot of great help!

I would use the days in Paris and Rome, and maybe make the daytrip to Tivoli if you would want to make a daytrip.
If you have you conference in Paris, and have some time in the evening to see some things and wouldn´t feel the need after that to stay longer in Paris, you could add another town, but my feeling would be that you want at least 2 days in a town, as you need the time to travel aswell. (even by plane it takes easily 6 hours to get from hotel to hotel.) In Rome you can spend easily 4 days, without getting bored.
