13 Days Trip to Italy in Sept

Hi,

Me and my wife are traveling to Italy coming September for 13 days. After browsing through hundreds of articles we have finally prepared an Itinerary based on our budget and preferences(we do not like beaches, hence we have left out Cinque Terra and Capri).

We would appreciate any feedback or suggestion about above itinerary.

1) Is the above plan do-able?
2) Is it a good idea to take the Viator tours we have mentioned above?
3) Any better suggestions are most welcome?

I only have time for a brief reply tonight but in reading your proposed Itinerary, my initial impression is that it's far too busy! I have a few comments on a few specific points in your Itinerary.

> You've got a VERY busy day planned for Sept. 9th, the day after arrival in Rome! You'll probably be jet lagged and need a bit of time to recover, so I doubt that you'll be able to get to all those stops.

> Note that for the Borghese Gallery, resservations are compulory and must be picked up at least half an hour before your reserved time. They are VERY strict with bags, so you'll have to check purses, Backpacks, larger Cameras and just about anything else.

> Could you clarify Tivoli? Are you referring to Tivoli and Hadrian's Villa? While that's only a short way out of Rome, you may have difficulty getting to that, Orvieto and then to Florence in the same day.

> IMHO, it would be a good idea to drop Milan. It would be easier to go from Verona to Venice.

Hopefully the others will have some comments as well.
