I want to plan a back packing trip through eastern europe but have no clue where to go or what are the 'must see's' of that region. I do know for sure I want to go to Romania, Croatia also because I have friends there. I would like the trip to be at least 4 weeks and it will probably be in june next year. Also wondering how much I would need to budget?

I have heard so many good things about the Czech Republic (I have yet to go though). So if I were you I would definitely check it out.
If you want a rough estimate of how much it might cost you, just check out a couple hostels in some cities you plan on visiting, a few train fares between the bigger cities, and add another $30 for food/day and you should be good. As a rule of thumb though it's most things are pretty inexpensive in Eastern Europe (compared to the West)
