I just booked a plane ticket to Paris for 2 weeks and will be leaving in February. I have been to Paris twice and only plan to spend about 3 nights there. Any suggestions on other places to visit? I have been to Versailles, but no other cities in France. I am thinking about taking an overnight train to Barcelona, as that is the only major city I have yet to visit in Spain. I was told to go to Mont Saint-Michel, but that is completely the opposite direction of Barcelona and I only have 2 weeks.
Any suggestions?

After countless hours trying to figure out a schedule, I am set on:
Paris (4 nights and take night train to Barcelona) Barcelona (2 nights) Madrid (2 nights) Toledo (2 nights) Madrid (1 night and fly out in the morning back to Paris) Paris (1 night and fly home in the morning)
I looked at going to southern France, but trains rain to infrequently and hostels were not available at the cities I wanted to stay at. I was in Spain in 2008 and did not get to see much of Madrid or any of the other cities I will be visiting. Can't wait to return.

Mikul,
Your Itinerary looks well sorted. I'm assuming you've allowed for travel times (ie: Paris to Barcelona by train)?
Regarding suggestions on places to visit in Paris, could you provide a bit of further information. For example:
> What did you see on previous visits?
> What type(s) of things do you like to see?
> Are there any particular sights you might like to "re-visit"?
February in Paris will probably be a bit "quiet" and a bit on the colder side, but at least you shouldn't have to contend with hordes of tourists!
Happy travels!

In Paris, I have been to most of the museums, Louvre, Orsay, Pompidou, Rodan, and a few others. I have also been out to Versailles and seen most of the sites in Paris, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Pantheon... I will probably purchase a Museum Pass again and re-visit the Louvre and see some wings that I missed, take a stroll down Champs Elysées and have some macarons at Ladurée. I mainly like seeing historical places and places that I have read in history books or seen on tv. I will be staying with a friend of a friend, who speaks French, so maybe he can take me to a restaurant that I otherwise would not have gone to.
I found a night train leaving around 9pm from Paris and arrives in Barcelona around 9am.
I have some guide books that I will be looking through, primarily by Rick Steves, for Spain and Paris.
