im quite new to the boards, but they have already provided me with loads of information and help for my trip ;D
im planning to go on a 3month euro trip from march 2012 (quite a bit in advance i know but i need to plan and save)
i would be travelling alone and this would be my first time doing so, and was wondering if other solo travellers could give me some info on their experiences, what its like going alone, meeting other people, maybe doing some stuff with other travellers etc.
also im thinking of starting sweeden norway and working my way down the continent, denmark, poland, holland, belgium, germany, france and spain. anyone have some obvious do's and don'ts?
thanks in advance for any help sarah x

Welcome to GFE, xrockabye.
It's good to know you've been lurking and reading the Boards for ideas and that you're now planning your trip for next year - the time will fly by so it's good to plan well ahead...and have something to look forward to!
You'll find that travelling alone isn't hard at all, in fact the flexibility it gives you is great, and if you want to find others to travel with or just talk to, you'll be able to quite easily - hostels are a good start, but so is just listening to those around you when you're at various sights.
In terms of your itinerary, you might want to reverse it and start in the southern parts then end in Scandinavia as the weather in March will still be quite chilly and snowing in the north. That way you can have the warmer Spring weather in the south and follow it north as things warm up. Unless of course you're looking to see Scandi in snow!
Also look at types of travel methods once you've planned out a bit more of a certain itinerary of cities. Flights on some legs are easier (and cheaper) than rail and will save you time too.
Post back with your proposed cities/regions to visit and we can help fill in the gaps.
