Hi. My friend and I are both 21 and will be studying abroad for 3 weeks this summer. (She in Paris and I in Florence). Our parents have decided to give us 2 weeks to travel together afterwards. We would very much appreciate help as we are so busy with school and stressed to plan it!
We are thinking about Prague, Amsterdam and London (possibly Munich, Berlin, Belgium). However, some have suggested Barcelona and French Riviera. This will be mid June. We want to have a cultural experience together as opposed to seeing as many museums as possible (of course we want to see top historical sights but also enjoy people watching, etc). Our budget is flexible but we'd rather stay in a charming hostel rather than sterile hotel we'd find in the United States (I guess?!) Thanks for any help in location, where to stay and how to get there!

caroline2012,
First of all, welcome to the Boards! I have a few comments to begin with.
Of the two choices you listed, I'd probably avoid the first one as London will be hosting the Olympics in July, so room prices and availability may be an issue. Also, transportation will be easier if you stay on the continent.
The second option (Belgium, Berlin, Munich) should be quite feasible. Which cities in Belgium are you considering? You could also perhaps add a few days in Amsterdam. One route you might consider is for you to travel from Florence to Paris, and then both of you travel Paris > Amsterdam > Berlin > Munich. You could also consider Paris > Berlin > Prague > Munich. There are all kinds of possibilities!
It will be easier to recommend places to stay once you've made a definite decision on which cities you're visiting. You could use only Hostels, or in stay part of the time in budget B&B Hotels.
It will also be easier to provide information on "How to get there" once you've decided on a route. If you decide on the last option I listed you can start with an EasyJet flight from Paris to Berlin. If you book early, the prices are usually reasonable (currently listed as low as €34.99, plus some fees of course). Be sure to pack light though or you'll be charged an excess baggage fee. Note that most Euro airlines only allow ONE carry-on item per passenger. Your flight home would be from Munich.
Hopefully the others will have some comments as well....

To add to Eagle's always excellent advice, I too would suggest staying away from the first Prague-Amsterdam-London option if you plan to travel to London at any time while the Olympics are on - unless you have tickets in which case, awesome! The Olympics are on from 27 July to 12 August, so if you are travelling mid-June then you'll still be ok to visit London, however you may find accommodation a little more expensive than usual so check it out first (hostels with double rooms are available, as well as B&Bs).
Barcelona and perhaps Madrid (with some day trips) will work well too, and will be easy to fly to for both of you (check flights from Pisa to Barcelona as I don't think there are many/any direct from Florence). Vueling.com would be worth looking at.
Eagle's suggested route will also work well by adding AMS instead of Prague, and you could even alter it to be Berlin, Prague, Munich (flights to Berlin can be found from both Paris and Florence/Pisa, ditto for Munich - check Air Berlin or Air Dolomiti) if that appeals more, so it just comes down to what you both want to see and do in your 2 weeks as each combination has its advantages.

Car hiring process is very genuine at the time of traveling. Spending family holidays and sharing moments together is very lovely and capturing videos and photos of various visiting places is also very beautiful when we recall the things later. But it all came into account when we are in the way of travel and actively providing our efforts to make it more enjoy some.

Autoeurope usually satisfies the competition's cost (in my experience) when you display them the deal you've got. We've usually used AutoEurope and been completely satisfied with them. The only other we've leased from has been Position, but that was when I was traveling for work and had all types of regularity factors, etc.
