Hi,
I have only saved about 600 Euro so far but want to head off in the next month or two. I was thinking about doing some short-term work somewhere first. I could see some of that country and save some cash at the same time. I could look for more work along the way at another stop. Is this wise or very dumb? Should I have all the money I'm gonna need in advance?
I am currently unemployed and living in Ireland so I don't really have any time restrictions on how long I can wander and work around Europe plus I don't have far to travel to get home if things go wrong! I was looking at Fruit-picking in either Denmark, England or Scotland to start off with! Is this sort of work a rip-off?
Any places you can recommend for short-term work?
Or am I mad in the head for not having a few thousand euros already saved?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi...No I don't think your nuts for not having money saved already....I was wondering the same thing actually....I want to backpack around around Europe straight out of high school..only being able to have a part time job doesn't exactly make me a millionaire. I thought it would be fun to travel around a country, and when I get low on money, get a little job somewhere to make enough money to get to the next country...I think your idea about fruit picking in Denmark is great. ...One question...where do work visas come in?
