I didn't think that Carmen should have made it through to the finals. The other picks were alright. btw, does anyone remember the name of that witch/broomstick/tarot card girl with the blond hair. One of the Hollywood people... in the top 32 i think?

I was shocked about Carmen too.. and when she sang her song after she was picked, I was even more shocked! Ugh!
I thought the girl that did the Pat Benetar song was pretty good but the judges just tore her to pieces.
My two favorites now are the Marine (Josh?) and Clay. If I had to pick between those two, it would be a challenge!

What a good show tonight! Of course, Motown is 'my' music, the sounds of my school years so that made it even better for me. ;D
I was blown away by the women! Every one of them surprised me and Carmen......wow!
Right up to the end I knew who I was voting for......till #12 sang! Was dialing almost before the last note. What a performance.
If it was reversed, and I had to vote on who to let go, my vote would have to be for either charles or corey....just didn't particularly like either of them. Too falsetto and stiff.
Won't say any more, especially names, till the rest of you have seen it too.
Trust me....you will enjpy this show tonight!

I agree..what a great show! Some outstanding performances..Clay, Ruban, Josh and the girls.
Completely agree with your two least favorites-those were mine too. Corey being my least favorite. His voice just doesn't do it for me.
OK, what was with the blonde Kimberley tucking her pants into those boots? Had to phone my sister on a commercial to discuss that one. Not a good look!
Everytime Clay sings, I'm amazed. That guy has such an amazing voice. Even Carmen redeemed herself cause I was seriously doubting Simon's choice on that one!
I think it's interesting that Simon has mentioned to two of them now (pink haired girl and Josh) that they need to lose a few pounds.. but notice he never says anything to Ruban? Do you think it's cause Ruban could squash him like a bug? ;D

Clay was the one who I just knew I was voting for...till Reuben sang that is. He is amazing indeed I think. The other one who 'almost' knocked Clay off my vote was Trenyce, #11. She did a fabulous job on her song and I had not liked her at all before this. I was a bit dissapointed with Josh last night.....still good, but his worst offering so far. He lost his 'sure thing winner' status in my mind with some amazing performances by the others.
For my money, lost night's top 4 were: Reuben Clay Trenyce Carmen

Another good show! I did not watch last year....was the quality overall this good? I am mightily impressed with all of them....hell, I can't carry a tune for anything. That said, here are the four I thought best, in order, and the 4 I thought worst, in order: (scroll if you've seen tonight's episode) best: Reuben Clay Josh Trenyce Need to go: Carmen Julia Charles Corey Add to this list: I REALLY wanted to vote for Kimberly Locke (the black Kimberly) but she barely stayed of my top 4 worst.......initial impression of her has not held up. The best were really great, the worst marginal...not that I could do even half so well. What do you all think??? ging

Thanks for the scroll!!! Thought that was so funny. Haven't watched it yet so it didn't ruin it. Will post after I have!

Speaking of Motown, guess where I was last weekend. Anyways, I caught only bits and pieces of American Idol as my beloved Leafs were playing tonight. From what I saw Clay did a good job, Carmen was better than last time but I missed Julia! I don't like Corey, Charles didn't do that well and the others I thought were all kinda grouped together and average.

OK, I completely agree with your list. Clay and Rueban blew me away. Trenyce, great as well.
Didn't like Carmen, Charlie or Corey (can't stand his high voice!) and Julia annoys me.
I liked Josh-but I like his old way of singing better, not real sold on the country thing.

>>>>>I liked Josh-but I like his old way of singing better, not real sold on the country thing.<<<<< My initial thought was 'oh no, he'll not go far with country'. I am a HUGE country music fan and thought it was a great song done very well.....but expected the judges would kill him on it. They did not so maybe? I liked after when he did his little 'interview' thing and said this is who I am and I will do country from now on. But can't help remembering the 'rock and roll' fellow didn't get very far singing just his style of music. I still really like Josh and would like to see him win, but every week both Reuben and Clay are leaving him further behind. They have surely become my personal favs. g

Those two are my favorites two-I think they might be in the top two. Or top three with Trenyce for sure.
I think Josh is excellent but compared to those two, he's being out sung. I just think he had a better chance before as I would think the average viewer is a teenage girl (do you think?) and they aren't usually into country.
I think this is the longest thread we've ever had!

It's the longest thread coz it's a long, on-going program! ;D And unless you want to break it and make American Idol, Part 2 it's likely to get lots lots longer before it's done. g
