Hi guys!
Long time, no talk....! I know, I know - I've been seriously absent around here but I'm hoping to start having more time soon.
Update, well, I've been busy not so much with travel but with being a mom - Morgan is 4.5 and starting kindergarten September. My diva daughter is turning 2 in a few short days. They keep me busy, especially Callie!
Hoping to start updating and renovating around GFE soon, keep your eyes peeled.
PS - super cool - I was reading my issue of Parents and they were talking about travel in Europe with kids. Guess who they suggested checking out for hostel info? Hostelworld... and yep, GFE! I was completely surprised, I had no idea it was in there!
Anyway, hoping you are all soon - WT and Eagle, good to see you are keeping everything under control!

Locking this thread - we all know how these things turn out when we debate politics on these boards.

Yep, she's either totally out cold or very alert.
She is very nosy on what Morgan is doing at all times - even at a month old. It's funny as when I was pregnant with her, she would go crazy when he would be talking around me - guess she could hear his voice.
He is SUCH a good big brother too - she was crying this morning and he said "She just wants to see her big brother - I hug her". It's very cute. He's had no jealously at all and loves to help - he'll get diapers and that sort of thing.

Sorry I've been so delayed in posting this - life with 2 is hectic, to say the least but we are loving every minute of it.
Callie Sage was born on May 5th, weighing in at 9lbs, 7 oz. She is a sweet, easy going baby and big brother Morgan is absolutely in love with her.
I'll post a picture when I'm at the other computer as I can't upload from this one!

I think your intinary looks great, you've left good amounts of time for each thing and aren't trying to squish too much in.
I really enjoyed Greece, not really Athens but we hit Mykonos, Paros, Ios and Naxos. Had a great time in all but probably wouldn't return to Ios as like you, we aren't big party people. Have always kicked myself about missing Santorini.
My only suggestion would be to knock a couple days off London and add them to your Greece part. London is so expensive both for sightseeing and accommodation that you could fit it all into 3 full days if you wanted.
I think if it was me, I'd also knock a day off Athens - keep your daytrip, leave the 2 days as is and use 2 days off London and 1 off Athens to go to another island in Greece as well.

My only thing is that staying anywhere for just 1 night is exhausting. By the time you arrive, find your hostel, get something to eat etc a chunk of your day is gone. I'd say you'd be better off dropping a city so that you can have a more relaxing trip. For example, I think Florence to Innsbruck is about 7 hours, if you are only staying one day it will feel like you just got off the train.
I'd also drop a day in Rome (I rarely say that!) and add it to Venice so it's 4 in Rome and 2 in Venice. Venice is a gorgeous city, worth 2 days.
Like you said though, you do have 4 extra days which is good.

I'd say take out Copenhagen Norway and it's doable. First of all, Scandinavia is outrageously expensive. If you don't have extra cash, definately give it a miss. Plus, it's out of the way from everything else on your list.
About camping, it's not going to be easy. Campsites are really far usually from the city center and alot of times require a car to get to. Then you have to think about packing around all the gear. You can't just camp anywhere like some people think, it's not allowed.
I wouldn't plan to camp - too much gear required, too far, too much hassle. Just get a bed in a cheap hostel, it would be so much better. The bigger the dorm room, the lower the price, if that's an issue. As in a bed in a 10 person room is going to be cheaper than one in a 4 person room.
Look for hostels with kitchens as well as cooking your meals and packing yourself a lunch will help you save a ton of cash.

They will definately honor it. Both you and they get paperwork saying how much of a deposit is paid and how much is left to pay so don't worry! It's always good to bring your copy though, just in case.

I love, love, LOVE my camera backpack. Don't know how I lived without it before. I have a Nikdn D70 as well. Makes life SO easy. Mine is like this: www.lowepro.com/Products/Backpacks/classic/Orion_Trekker_II.aspxLove the fact that it unzips around the middle (this is hard to discribe) because in airports, you can unzip it and all your equipment is sitting right there. It is stable for when it goes through the x-ray machines etc. The main part has a middle section for a body/lense then 2 side sections which I keep 2 other lenses. The top has an open section for other stuff as well as a small zippered pocket. That said, would I carry all that stuff for a long trip? Probably not. It's heavy and hulking it around would be a pain. For a shorter trip - absolutely. Well, maybe I would for a longer trip, hard to say. Those are the two lenses I would take though - your 18-70 and 5omm. Kim
