Man, what are the odds that something like 4 of the 32 semi-finalists have been arrested or been in trouble with the law! That's incredible.

What continues to amaze me is folks thinking, in this day and age, that 'anything' can be kept secret. And 4 out of 32......what's that, like 12%? I'd wager you could pick 32 folks off the street most anywhere you'd like and have 4 of them with some sort of record or secret. Difference is, they aren't aiming to be "stars" and failing to disclose this info when asked necessarily. But....whatever......I didn't like him anyway. ;D

Welcome to disco night......and one that I think nearly every one of them found difficult at best. Overall probably the worst offering by everyone of the show thus far. That said, my 'review'....for what it is worth A night that saw some upsets in my usual choices..... Best, in order: Reuben.....continues to get better each week Kimbery Locke.....on an upswing? Trenyce....don't want to like her...but she's good Worst, no real order: Josh....his worst performance, not his genre at all!!!! Ricky Smith....one of my favs, failed at this one Kim Caldwell....nope....to 'Vegas'y' Carmen....probably the best of this group, but still not much And as for Clay......this fellow has a great voice, really he does.....but he seems to only know how to sing 'one song' in that no matter the genre, no matter the song, it always sounds just like the one before....he just doesn't seem to have any versatility to me. So I basically listen but tend to discount him out of hand. what do you all think? g

Agree with Rueban being the first choice-he keeps standing out more and more. I'm seriously getting tired of those 205 shirts though! Does he not own anything else?
Clay-amazing voice but you're right, it just isn't versatile. He could change his look once and a while to help him out.
Kimberley L.-liked it, don't think she will win but she's doing better.
Kimberley C.-I liked this as well but Paula was right, she could change it up a bit.
Josh-oh god, that was terrible! He has such a nice voice but everything seems to be going downhill.
Rickey S.-tired of him, didn't like it at all.
Trenyce-give up the Whitney H! She's good but I don't know..
All in all, I'm not a disco fan-maybe that's why I thought they all did crappy! LOL

I'm finding it pretty disappointing now. I don't really like any of the contestants that are left. I actually really dislike a few of them, but out of the rest, nobody really stands out to me at all. Thank goodness the playoffs start this week! I'll have something else to watch. Various comments for the week... Clay - I thought they had to pick a different song each week? Rickey - The clothes... he looked like Usher's Uncle Randy - I think he's in love with Rueben Rueben - No 205 this week!!! Kimberly C - Sucks up the the judges / really annoying Guest Judges - Waaay too polite

Patrick, you still have to watch it! Your comments this week regarding the contestants seriously cracked me up. I do agree with you, some are seriously annoying-I think that's part of why I watch it though.
OK..
Joshua.. Good song for him, he redeemed himself. Not a huge country fan but it sounds good on him.
Rickey.. All I can think of now is Patrick saying that he looks like Ushers uncle! LOL ;D (I'm laughing now even thinking about it) I don't like his high pitched voice.. when he talks all I can hear him saying is "Hercules, Hercules". I thought it was just a damn good impression but that's just really his voice!
Trenyce.. I thought that sounded good! I was surprised Simon hacked it.
Clay.. yeah, seriously supported him in the beginning as you will recall but it's going nowhere for me.
Rueban.. Why don't they just make him the American Idol and we can all get on with our lives.. LOL.. We all know he's going to win! Thank god he didn't wear a 205 shirt AGAIN!
Carmen.. She's gone this week for sure. Bets, anyone?
Kimberly C.. I dunno. Something about how she prances irks me.
Kimberly L.. She has a good voice but I think she is lacking in self-confidence.
It's sure not like last year though, there was more of a race towards the finish line. This year it's pretty clear..

I'll have to tune in and make some more observations next week I guess.
Actually I'm really looking forward to watching the first couple rounds of Canadian Idol when it airs... you never know who you'll see on the show that you might know. That'll make it that much better/funnier.
I think you're probably right about Carmen. I'm hoping she stays on though, she's easy on the eyes. Maybe someone will dig up some dirt on a contestant, perhaps Rickey will just 'disappear' like Corey due to an undisclosed alcohol/drug abuse problem from his teen years partying with his famous nephew.
... okay, maybe not.

My thoughts on last night: Lionel - thank God! He's the first guest judge who has said anything constructive Simon - dead on with most of his comments last night. Shouldn't have been rude to Lionel. Trenyce - I don't think it was that bad but she looks a little scary when she sings. I think had the thief thing not come out she'd be sticking around longer. Rickey - I like him. But I think he'll go soon. Carmen - that child should have never been there in the first place. You know she was only in the top 12 'cause she was blonde and white.........Simon pretty much let everyone know that through all his hints. I felt bad when she almost cried. I think she's going tonight. Josh - sure did a great job of picking a song! Sounded great! I do, however, think he has to watch his weight....................he seems to get bigger every week. Kim C - is it just me or does anyone else suspect she might be NOT eating? I mean, we all know what happened to her in Pop Stars!!! That week she almost got kicked off I started to suspect she was unstable. Anywayz, picked a bad song for HER -- exposed her weaknesses. She'll go soon............. Kim L - good song. Sang well. Problem is I think people haven't formed an attachement to her. Oh and I think she's got LOADS of confidence. She'll be top 4 for sure! Clay - I don't know what to think about this boy. He's got a fantastic voice but tends to sing everything the same way. If the song is sad or melancholic you can't belt it out. I thought he was going to be the runner up -- don't know anymore. Ruben - That boy is great!!!! Seriously he walks out and he just makes me smile. He makes everything looks so effortless. We ALL know he's going to win.

WOW! Carmen wasn't even in the bottom 3! Rueben was back with the 205 again I was hoping one of the Kimberly's would get kicked off this week, preferably C. I don't think Rickey was going anywhere anyways - he doesn't really have that idol look to him, but then again, most left don't. Is it just me, or does Clay mouth 'thank you' every time he's on camera... that's getting old. I was glad he sang first this week too so he couldn't do his little 'fingers thing' when it's time to tell viewers to vote. I liked the commercial with Rueben and Carmen, that was pretty funny seeing Rueben in the tux dancing around. That's about all I can comment on as I was busy watching my Leafs dismantle the Flyers. Will be watching the Canucks tomorrow!

Glad no one took my bet about Carmen! She is getting by with all the young teen boy votes cause she is pretty. It's easy to forget she is 17 though.. seriously, who looks that good at 17??
So how come Rickey didn't sing like the rest of them did? It was weird with that pre-recorded taped message, what's up with that? I did always think it was mean to make them sing after they've just been booted, though!

Oh come on..............you mean to tell me I'm the only one who thinks Carmen isn't that good looking??? She's got these funny eyes that pop out and she's rather average looking. I think people think she's good looking 'cause she's blonde..............not 'cause she is. In terms of facial structure and stuff both of the Kimberlies are better looking! Anywayz, I think last night totally sucked. I kind of thought it might happen but only 'cause I know how skewed the voting has been. I for one, however, think it's time for some electoral reform. I think people should get voted OUT and not voted IN. I honestly believe that with the exception of Kim L. , and maybe Trenyce, all the girls should have gotten voted off before any boys. As for Carmen -- I actually think it's the teeny bopper girls that like her and are keeping her in. I think the boys have better things to do than to call all night long for her. Or maybe it's all the Mormons in Utah -- they tend to have lots of kids.............maybe she's getting all the support from them. (That was not meant sarcastically or in a rude way) Watch Carmen make it to the top four or something. That would be horrible. Right now the only three to never have been in the bottom three are Josh, Ruben, and Clay. But then again............we ALL know Ruben is going to win!

Not a clue when the Canadian Idol is supposed to start but it is being advertised in Canada. I can't say if it's during American Idol broadcasts as I have class on Tuesday nights
