>>>>>>>Oh can I also add that I think the only person who could have sang this really well was Corey......... <<<<<
Hadn't even thought about this, but you are so right on here! Didn't particularly care for his falsetto, but gawd, he would have rocked on these BG's songs!!!

Ummm..............I'm totally going to disagree with you peeps! My opinion of tonight was that it was largely forgettable. Kimberly was good but she needs to strech her boundaries -- they tend to be the same type of songs. Ruben was good but he had some rough patches. I think lately he's been having a bit of trouble with his voice. Not as smooth as it use to be...........As far as his songs I can't say I liked "Smile." I did however quite enjoy "Sign, Sealed, Delivered!" I thought that was great. Clay was great tonight. Granted the first song he screwed up big time -- but I didn't even know he was supposed to have sang during that silent spot. Either way I think the song was pretty horrible to begin with. The second song was SMOKIN'! Then there was his last song. I love Unchained Melody and also thought the arrangement was pretty bad. BUT he pulled it off! I think the only one who is safe after tonight is Clay. The other spot is in between Kim and Ruben. While I think Kim is good I think Ruben brings a totally different dimension to the show. He's so natural and so likable -- it's crazy! I hope to see him in the finals. I do think further ahead though -- I wonder who out of all of these contestants 19 Entretainment will choose to sign? My money is on Ruben and Clay. Other than them it might be Kim and possibly even Josh. BUT I'M GOING TO SAY SOMETHING I'VE NEVER SAID BEFORE: I think Clay will win this thing!!!!

;D
That's so fun.......interesting to see how we all watch the same thing, yet see it so differently huh? Coz for my money, Clay is the one at risk tonight. I thought he gave his worst performances last night so far. I expect Kim and Reuben to be in the finals. And Reuben will win.
We'll see........

Right now my money is on Clay............. He has NEVER been in the bottomo 2 -- that's clearly indicative of something. Unless, the Ruben peeps vote in mass I don't think they will overcome. Having said all of that I want to see either of them win. But I would be dissappointed if Kimberly win. That would suck!

I missed it last night!! Had a baby shower to go to and my sister forgot to tape it for me. Tried to tape it at our house but this digital cable that the boyfriend insists on having makes it difficult! Glad you guys post so that I can have an idea of what went on. Boyfriend hated Clays first song but loved his second. Kim

Kim is great -- she really is..................BUT I have to say I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief!!! The final is just as it should be: Clay v. Ruben I for one can't wait!

So tonight was THE day -- what did you all think? I don't know boys and girls but if I were a betting type of woman my money would be on Clay right now! Here's how I saw things Ruben -- the first song was good but I'm not sure he should have sang it considering how AMAZINGLY Tamyra did it last year. I REALLY liked his version of Imagine -- it was really good! BUT when he did "Flying without Wings"...............I love that song and I have to say I don't think he came close to doing it justice. Clay -- the first song I had never heard and somehow he managed to make it sound fantastic -- it's rare that you connect with a song like that the first time you hear it! The second song -- not his fault I just don't like it! BUT I COMPLETELY agree with Simon -- if anything won the competition for him it was his last song! I was worried that he wouldn't be able to pull it off but that was bloody brilliant! Look, I totally love Ruben -- I think he's got an amazingly fantastic personality and his voice is sooooo genuine. But when you put him beside Clay (like tonight) you realize that the one with the superiour vocal talent is Clay. No doubt about it -- I say Clay is the next American Idol!

Yep, have to say I agree. Clay did an amazing job - I felt like he put everything he had into it whereas I didn't get that feeling from Reuban. Not that he wasn't good, it's just Clay was outstanding.
But.. does Clay have to do that thing where everytime Simon or one of the others says something nice, he has to close his eyes and his eyelids kinda quiver? Drives me CRAZY!

I hear you on that Kim... Clay can get on my nerves. But yes, I think he'll win - I think he's got more voting power behind him than Rueben. I have to admit though, I only saw Rueben sing imagine, and about 12 seconds of Clays second song, so I can't really comment based on their performances. I ended up watching a Shania Twain interview from Switzerland on CBC instead. Yes, I'm horrible i know. ;D

Have to say I agree that Clay is likely to win this thing. As for who was better last night, to me it was about 'performance' more than voice. Clay is by far the better performer right now and that's what will tip the scales. They are two different singers with two entirely different vocal styles/voices so a side by side comparision on that alone is not really possible. Sort of like trying to put Denyce Graves and Trisha Yearwood on the stage together....both have great voices but their style and presence is so radically different that one would blow the other off. ;D Clay assuredly outperformed Reuben last night and I expect he will win.....deservedly so. Just wish I liked him better, those winks, that mouthed 'thank you', the fluttering eyes......yuck. He has changed his appearance sooooo much I just can't help feeling like he is the incredible wind up idol doll, not a genuine thing about him, not even his name. Except for that voice of course!

Oooops! What's that I'm eating you say? YUP, MY WORDS!!! Guess I was wrong boys and girls. I have to admit though that I'm somewhat disappointed Clay didn't win. But if they're both getting recording contracts and the CDs are being released the same week -- well then I think they are both winners! Ruben seems like a fantastic guy - it could not have happened to anyone nicer!
